Regular Donation

Regular donations enable us to plan our work in the longer term knowing that a certain, regular amount of funding is coming in every month.

Each ministry needs to raise additional funds to run their programmes. Although Mannafest and Axiom charge these fees are heavily subsidised by the YFCNI. You may want to support a particular strand of ministry:

Schools Work - going into schools and youth groups to relevantly communicate the message of Jesus Christ to children who may never have heard before.

Mannafest - enabling more young people to be inspired by Christ-centred youth-focused teaching to go into their schools and demonstrate their faith.

Y-1 and Leaders In Training - offering high quality training and support to young people starting a career in Christian youth work.

Summerserve - introducing evangelism to a new generation of young Christians through facilitating short-term teams round Ireland and overseas. This also benefits the churches as many local young people come to Christ through peer led mission.

Centres - relevantly bringing Christ into communities in Northern Ireland . We provide a safe base from which to actively demonstrate God's love to the young people in the area and through them to their families.

Shop - to support youth leaders throughout Northern Ireland with high quality books and contemporary resources.

Legacies

Make a lasting difference to the work of Youth for Christ in Northern Ireland .

In 2003 over 140,000 young people globally cited Youth for Christ as the means by which they found God. With your last help we can sustain and increase this figure and also disciple these new young Christians.

How to make a will
If you are making a Will we would advise you to seek professional advice, usually from a solicitor. If you have already made a will you can add to or change it at any time by adding a legal document called a codicil.

Here is an example of the wording you should use: 'I bequeath to Youth for Christ Northern Ireland, Owenmore House, Kilwee Business Park, Upper Dunmurry Lane, Dunmurry, BT17 0HD, for its general charitable purposes and for the receipt of the National Director for the time being of Youth for Christ Northern Ireland shall be good and sufficient discharge to my executors.

Types of Legacy

There are a few different kinds of gift you can leave in your Will. The most common are described below.

Residuary bequest
A gift of the remainder of the estate after all other bequests have been made and debts cleared is called a residuary bequest.

Pecuniary bequest
A gift of a fixed sum of money in your Will is called a pecuniary bequest. The value of pecuniary legacies will decrease over time, as the cost of living increases.

Specific bequest
A particular named item left as a gift in your Will is known as a specific bequest - for example, a piece of jewellery.

Contingent bequest
A gift in your Will that depends upon the occurrence of an event which may or may not happen is known legally as a contingent bequest. An example is a bequest to a charity which applies only if other beneficiaries named in the Will die before the testator (person who made the Will).

Types of wording you should use

'The sum of.' this is called a pecuniary bequest

'all residues of my estate.' this is called a residuary bequest

'one X share of the residue of my estate.' this is also called a pecuniary bequest

For more legal advice please contact your solicitor.
