Youth for Christ Northern Ireland has been reaching out with the good news of Jesus Christ for sixty years. Our motto is ‘Geared to the times, Anchored to the Rock.’ For the past six decades we have strived to be faithful to the Bible and the church while remaining relevant to the culture in which God has called us to work, the ever–changing world of youth!
While YFCNI is made up of a staff team or youth workers, evangelists, preachers and support workers it is primarily a volunteer organisation. Each week hundreds of YFC volunteers are serving in our centres, programmes and projects. Each volunteer is giving time to fulfill our mission of bringing the Gospel to the unchurched young people in Northern Ireland.
Youth for Christ is a charity that is financially faith–based. We rely entirely on the Lord moving in the hearts of His people to support our work through donations. YFC is grateful to be able to look back on God’s faithful provision, day after day, month after month and year after year.
In order to stay relevant, we are constantly adapting our programmes and projects. Over the years, Youth for Christ has been working across the six counties through Gospel crusades, rallies, film presentations, coffee bars, music and arts. Recently we have found our most effective tools to be local expressions known as YFC centres, schools work, creative arts and summer missions. In the future, we hope to introduce new ministries that will help us achieve our mission and vision.
Youth for Christ Northern Ireland takes its mission and vision from the International movement of YFC. We use our own wording but express the same dreams and desires.
Our Mission Statement:
YFC NI: Helping Young People find Jesus, follow Him and join His family
We are fuelled by a passion for spiritual transformation in young people, wanting them to find fullness of life in Christ.
We seek to be a dynamic and relevant voice to the church, providing resources, training and people to help shape and influence a new generation of lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ.
We want to mobilize volunteers, providing practical opportunities for them to serve God, grow spiritually, and discover and develop their gifts.
We want to impact thousands of young people currently beyond the churches reach, bringing the Gospel relevantly to this generation and modelling truth in a world of relative values.
We want to be a praying people, in tune with God’s spirit and doing His work in His strength.
In short, we want to see God move in the life of every young person in Northern Ireland and we want to do all we can to be part of making that happen.
